brothers

went to see "brothers" last night with high hopes... and was not disappointed. the movie was absolutely amazing. i've only cried in one other movie (pearl harbor). jake gyllenhal was gorgeous as usual, and tobey maguire (sp?) was soooo good. omg it just raised so many questions, and made you think about so much stuff.. i don't wanna give anything away, but seriously, go see it.

one thing i was surprised about: the ads made it really seem like it would be a love triangle thing. that was part of the movie, but really more of it was centered on tobey's PTSD, and how he was so affected by the war. obviously a very troubling and intense topic, but i really liked that the movie was more focused on that because it really is so damaging.

more gingerbread!

in other gingerbread news, i thought i'd post pics of the gingerbread house i made at college for halloween:

and the one i made at school for christmas:

obviously not my best work, as i have limited resources at school and have to use the graham-cracker technique. but cute nonetheless :)

ultimate gingerbread house website

i think i posted about this website last year, but it's worth it again.
love these!

obviously this one below is amazing, but most of this is fondant stuff. it looks great, but i still admire making all stuff with candy, etc.
another cute one:
of course, i will be making my own soon. i have elaborate plans :)
stay tuned for pics.

tim burton's alice in wonderland

i can't wait for the new alice in wonderland to come out! release date is march 5th. the pictures look amazing:

plus, so many great actors are in it. on another note, while i was looking at the actress who plays alice's page, it said she's going to be in a new "jane eyre" movie coming out in 2011. hopefully that'll be good, it's one of my favorite books.

sam worthington

so... despite the fact that i am not a teenage boy, i LOVED the movie avatar. and the main actor, sam worthington, is incredibly sexy:

tim burton exhibit at Moma

omg i wish i was in new york! they're having this tim burton exhibit at moma, with tons of his sketches, and old stuff.... so cool.

check out some of his work on the exhibit website.

amazing way to procrastinate

i don't know why i didn't discover sporble sooner! it's this really fun website where you can basically do tons of quizzes/family feud type list games. my favorite: list the top adults and kids halloween costumes.

fun game

so this game, dino run, is pretty ghetto... reminds me of roller boy kind of. but i loved that.
anyways, it's pretty addicting.

Hiccuppie

really cute video bakerella had on her blog, based on the art by the artist (jessie oleson) who's merchandise i had a few posts back:

bakerella

i am obsessed with this blog bakerella. she has tons of adorable baked goods.

my fav by far (obviously as i'm obsessed with miniature stuff too) these little hamburgers and fries. the burger is brownie, with cupcake buns and then sugar cookie fries.

on the blog she has tons of these cake "pops" (like lollipops but little cake bites). here are some adorable mini wedding cake ones:

and some adorable cupcakes for the season:
